It wasn't long before the eve of the season that MG announced they were not going to support the BTCC effort any more. This is fair enough of course. This is the real world and if MG can't then they can't. WSR decided to go it alone. They started the season without a major sponsor and acquired one as the season progressed.

Both drivers did very well. Anthony Reid continued his robust driving style and got 4th place in the Championship, and was of course top independant (hence the 2004 Champions stickers). Colin Turkington did well enough to get himself a works Vauxhall drive for next year. I feel that is definitely a step up as at the moment there is nowhere else to mount a title challenge from (though the 05 Astra might have some teething problems of course).

I've also included above a small collection of the MG Owners club cars (and MG show cars) that were at the site. You'd feel that MG could keep going on fan power alone almost.
